Worm in coral

I had a piece of leather on a small rock which I had transfered from one tank to another. In the new tank I place the coral in a moerate amount of current which it may not have been use to. Over the weekend the coral seemed to detach itself from the rock. I went to place it onto a piece of new rock toady to find the the inside had looked like it was deteriating. I found a small white worm on the inside of it. It looked exactly like a bristle worm just white instead of orange like all the other ones in my tank. Could this worm have killed my coral? or was it more likely just feeding opportunistically? Should I have to worry about any of my other corals suffering the same fate?

I have had leather corals get that hollowed out thing going on, usually its some patheogen and the worm is doing cleanup, tho I believe some of the fireworms have been idicted as soft coral eaters
