Question

Worm????

Hey All..... last night while doing my pre-bed snorkling with the mini-light in my tank activity, I found an interesting creature. It looked like a worm about 10 cm in length and maybe 1 mm in width. It moved in a cork screw fashion and when hit with the light, disappeared into the aragonite.

Of course my fear is that this is some incredibly agressive monster which will take over and destroy my tank, but of course I'm most curious to know what it is. Many Thanks....

Hi Sailfin

There are so many different kinds of worms that I won't even hazard a guess Rest easy though, most of them are beneficial. Looking at the tank after lights-out is a blast!

Do a search for "bristle worm" or just "worm" and you will find a tank full of threads and links to research worms.

Good luck!

Hey Sailfin-

I've got some mystery worms in the tank right now too..they are white and grow tall at night. Bizarre. It's probably not a monster! It's biodiversity .
