Woo Hoo I hope

Greetings all,

well I hope I am on the down side and close to the end of my cycle? Just yesterday or the day before when I tested my NH3 and Nitrite they were off the scale. Today its about 3. My Figi is growing brown in color and texture, I assume this is a diatome bloom which if im not mistaken should be expected, is that right? My Nudibranch (species unknown) is still kickin saw him tonight.

does anyone know of any Good Classification books out mainly with A lot of photos?

There are so many ?s that I have its not even funny.

My wife and I aquascaped tonight will be trying to take photos and see how things look.

I am not going to get a clean up crew until the nh3 and nitrites are at .5 would this be liveable for a clean up crew, and what are some good interesting things in a clean up crew, There is some detrius(waste/rot) on the bottom of the tank so some thing to really go after that.

T.

Hey Tannir,
Sounds like progress!
Nothing should be added until the cycle is fully complete, with Ammonia and Nitrites at 0. Once you achieve 0 readings, wait a couple days, test again, then if still 0, go ahead and add your clean up crew of a variety of snails. I would avoid hermits and cucumbers though they are commonly recommended by LFS and Clean up crew packages. Trochus, Nassarius, Ceriths, Margaritas, Astraeas are good ones.
