Question

Wish List

I know I have a long way to go but I can't help planning what I want for my 12 gal tank. Tank has been cycling with cured rock since late October. This is what I have.
20 lbs live rock
6 snails
6 hermits
1 cleaner shrimp
2 zoo frags
1 candy cane polyp
2 1/2 inch sandbed.

This is what I want.

1 Fire hawkfish
1 clownfish
1 anenome
1 pom pom crab
1 goby
mushrooms
a few polyps

My LFS actually has small fish, accept for the hawkfish and that is the one I REALLY want.
My question is..........
Can I have all of this in my tank? What order should they be added and can it be done in under a year?
I have thought about another nano but I will just try to fill that up too.
So I will just stick with this one for a while.

what lighting is on the 12g. more likely than not the anemone will be out due to insuficient lighting. also most anemone's would be bigger than the 12g in short order. not a big deal if all you want is an anemone and a clownfish, but anything else in there could be food for the anemone depending on which kind you get.

i would just stick with a firefish and possibly the flame hawk. the flamehawk could eat your shrimp if they were small enough.

If your not worried about the clown hosting the anemone, you could go with a rock\flower anemone. I have had one in my 46 for a year. Hes only about 4-5 inches accross. Hardly ever moves and doesnt seem to bother anything.

I had a Hawkfish before and he didn't bother the shrimp, maybe I was just lucky. My shrimp is pretty big and I would hate to lose him/her as I enjoy the antics. So the Goby is out as well?

Just looked up the Rock Anenome, think I may have had this one before but he was only about an inch, didn't move unless I disturbed him.And he did like his shrimp. But can one survive with less light?
