Wierd stuff...

Okay...this is odd. My skunk cleaner shrimp lokks like he is *covered* with brown algae! Like diatom algae...he's a dirty brown all over, not solid...but definately noticable. He's acting normal though...has anybody ever heard of this before?

Wow that is wierd, I have snails and crabs sporting coralline coats but not diatoms.
BTW Niagra Falls is alive and well in my living room. I have some noise problems to deal with but the changeover is pretty complete, all I have to do is get the chance to jam up there and we can set your sump up

Bummer on the algae coating on your shrimp

Last summer when I was first starting out one of my hermits had a coating like you described. Sorta gave it a Farah Faucette look. Shivver

After a while it disappeared.
