Wierd bug in tank!!!


i found a wierd looking bug in my tank the other day, just trying to find out what it is. it looks like a pill bug. i have only seen it once, and when i saw it, it was digging in the sand. any help would be great.

yeah just like an isopod, are they a danger to my tank? if so, how do i get rid of them?

Might be a chiton or an isopod ...Chitons won't hurt anything ... not sure on the isopods .. some like cirolanids are real nasty but I assume there are harmless varieties as well.

As long as it isnt attached to a fish or you arent experiencing mystery fish deaths I wouldnt worry about it. Cirolanid isopods are a reefkeepers nightmare but luckily are pretty rare. Most isopods just dig around in the sand eating detritus.
