why pulsing xenia not pulsing

i have a 30 gallon reef tank that has had pulsing xenia in it for probably eight months it started out as one colony on a frag and now i have like 12 big colonies the only problem is that it has stopped pulsing and doesnt the hands arent feathery like they used to be they are real thin and they all are pointing upwards and not pulsing it has been doing this for about two weeks, it still opens up every morning it just doesnt pulse and spends the whole day pointing towards the sky, i did a 20% water change like 3 or 4 days ago but nothing changed can some one please help me it took me forever to get the stuff and i got rid of a fireball angel because he seemed to like it as much as me (chomp chomp) so i dont want to loose it!!!!!!!!!

what is your lighting? i have found that xenia gets "lazy" after being in constant conditions for awhile. mine did the same as yours, but when i upgraded lights, it changed to pulsing a lot. got lazy again, but perked up again when i added more flow to the tank.

the streching toward the light makes me think that it may be not enough light.

mine did the same thing. when i first got the xenia, it pulsed like crazy. Then it stopped and was very long and skinny and not pulsing. Then I rearranged some stuff and put them where they get a lot of flow from a powerhead. It's been about a week since the rearrangement and they are starting to pulse again today. i don't really understand it but I wouldn't worry too much about it. they'll start pulsing again.

i have a 65wx2 coralife light i thought maybe it was getting bothered by some mushrooms that were moving in on them but my colonies that arent close to the mushrooms are doing the same
