why Brittle Stars are not reef safe...

I have a pretty good sized brittle star in my 29G and he has gone on a feather duster eating rampage ...he got ahold of 1 that had come out of his tube last week and it took him a day to eat it. (I had 4 good size feather dusters) I wasnt happy about it but I was okay with it at first. But a week later he had eaten all of my feathers up like its the only thing he ever wanted. AND NOW!...I have a mithrax crab missing and I'm wondering who else has had problems with brittle stars. Are they that great at scavenging detritus that its worth 50 bucks in feather dusters is all I can think about...

I have only heard the greens are nasty. I had a red, who was attacked and killed by a pistol shrimp. I have 3 white brittle hitchhikers at the momnent, but too small to cause trouble.

The white brittles are mini brittle stars, they wont get very big.

there is a difference between serpent and brittle stars. serpents don't have and "hairs" on their legs and have been known to eat their neighbors... brittle stars have hairs on their legs and are not usually going to eat anything but scum off rocks.
