There would be no way I'd be able to fall asleep.

Well, "Good Eats" with AB always helps me and my wife fall asleep at night. There's just something calming and relaxing about his shows. The problem is that I really like AB and I really like to cook, but I keep falling asleep during the show. So, I have all these half-watched "Good Eats" laying around. Good thing they're on my Tivo!
Anyway, the good news this morning is that everything seems to be working perfectly fine. There are no leaks from the RO/DI unit, at least none that I can see. I layed down a bunch of paper towels around the whole unit and the storage tank before going to bed last night. The paper towels were not only to soak up any water that might leak out during the night, but also to make a leak very obvious if there is one. So far so good. Tonight I will fill up my first 5G bucket and get my SW mixed for a much-needed water change.

Great news Robb... remember that blog you posted a few months ago... somehow it involved pliers, hacksaw, wanting to throw stuff out the window and into the front yard??
LOL.. this seemed like another one of those projects
Next time you decide to venture out and do another DIY project, do it in a few steps.
Step 1:
Take it out of the box and go away for a couple hours
Step 2:
Hook it up to see if it works. If it works, leave it for a couple hours, if not then disconnect it and leave it for a couple hours
Step 3:
Make repairs, if necessary
Step 4:
Final fitting of required accessories (aka the canopy project.. LOL)
I think less frustration and aggravation would come about if you followed those steps (I have to or I end up in the same boat as you, a bunch of broken items sitting in the front yard in pieces, and the window is left open )
Step 5:
Enjoy the result

ahhh, see... you guys have wisdom to remember to open the window before you set things sailing....
.......
um, how long after ordering did you all get your ship tracking info- or arrival estimate? my purchase receipt email does not have much info. it does not even state what i bought, just that it cost $112 and change....
is that normal? i'm used to more detailed receipts, thats all.

yeah, mine took about a week to get here. They ship from an importer in Cali. very poor communication (but the price made it worth it), i never received a tracking number (wouldn't do much good anyway as it ships USPS and their tracking service sucks!!) I just got my unit in about 7 days.

Tony, you make it sound so easy! Too bad nothing ever works that way for me. I can never just leave things alone and walk away. If I get a new toy, I will immediately set to work tinkering with it, and I will not stop until it is completely finished/installed to my satisfaction or it has been broken into pieces and left in a pile of rubble.

icebar, I ordered my unit on Friday 03/20 and finally received it on Friday 03/27. I believe I received the shipping confirmation email the Monday after placing my order.

Robbw - That's pretty much me. Have to start on it right away, can't stop until it's done. Oh, and always say, "this should take about an hour" regardless of how long it's actually going to take.
I ordered my PWC 6 stage 150 GPD last night (e-bay, $105.99 free shipping), I'll let folks know when it gets here.

You can drink it. Use it to wash clothes with (many do), water the grass, wash your car, lots of things to do with the water. But yes, it will waste about 4 gallons of water for every gallon of "good" water.

Yep, 4:1 is common. This is something people should research a little further. It has been brought up in just about every RODI thread that has come across the forum..
