Whoa!!

What would cause a coral to get bleached in an 8 hr. period??? I've had this pocillapora for about 3wks. now. He's been growing great. This morning he was fine. I get home from work and he is completely white! Does anyone know how that would happen in that short amount of time?? I'm a bit upset about this!

You can see pics of her poccillia here, I believe:

http://www.thereeftank.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=55690

I noticed when this was posted, that while there was a little growth, the coral had lost quite a bit of color. So whatever caused this, has probably been an issue for the last couple weeks.

Jeni,

If it's NOT any of your parameters, then can you tell us more about the coral's placement in the tank? Low light? Bright light? Low Flow? High flow? etc.

Do you still see polyp's coming out? (do you check at night?)

Sometimes, when stressed, corals will expell all their zooxanthella (photosynthetci symbiotic algae), and thus loose some color. But you're saying it's competely white?
