who has an invert only tank?

anyone have a coral and invert only tank with no fish??
this is something ive always wanted to try but never went through with it

how would the corals do without fish? were would they get their nutrients from? i wont use those coral concoction foods since to me they are just crapola in a bottle and cause nothing but algae blooms etc
i can feed the inverts (crabs, snails etc) a food pellet once a week would this be enough for coral nutrients?
one tank is a softee only tank and the other is a softee and LPS mix

For a long time, I had a tank like that, mostly cause my clown fich kept dieing. I don't think it would hurt the tank much to have no fish, it would certainly keep your nutrient import to a minimum. I have heard some people say that a tank can be too clean and that it helps to add some food and nutrients to the tank periodically (with or without fish).

most corals should be getting all their nutrients from light, a little of the "mumbo jumbo" every now and then would help many of them, add some blender mush or something, but i think you would add it much less, each time then if you had fish. or simply target feed any corals that can exept food like that. should be fine imo, ive always wanted to do a mantis tank. but i dont know if i can keep corals with it. havent done the reasearch yet.

so you think by adding a food pellet once a week for the crabs would be enough nutrients added??
mantis shrimp are hesterical looking lol. i saw one last week in the petshop his eyes were all over the place, def a cool critter
but i wouldnt be able to feed it hermits and watch such a slaughter. ive seen a video of that once where the mantis attacked the poor hermit, it was so sad the hermit left his shell and tried to run away...i teared up so i know thats not for me
i am 99% sure mantis are coral safe

Right now i have a coral and invert only tank no fish.

I feed my anemone every 4 days or so some silversides or krill then feed my shrimp and hermits some mysis every now and then.
