White foggy sediment in main tank, what is it?

Hi everyone, in my set up I have no prefilter (in my refugium) as of yet (set up issue being fixed in a week). My mian tank has this foggy white atmosphere and I actually see it move around (the sediment) in my 45G main tank. But even when I have this set up before, I never had a cloudy tank (white fog type) this bad. I haven't used calcium or kalkwasser, just recently started (but had the fog about 2 weeks back). Thus far I stuck a giant whisper filter 4 in my fuge (29G)and just let it run hoping to catch some of whatever is causing this mess.... any other suggestions?? thanks!
