no ideas on the trumpet, but i think the gray buttons are not long for this world. When my zoanthids went into decline a while back, they did that white husk thing.

i wasn't able to stop it in the zoas, but it finally stopped and the remaining ones multiplied....

about 6 to 8 weeks, just changed lighting form two strip lights to two 250 halo lights, I have been acclimating them to the light gradually. We have just gotten up to 8 hours. I had the lights for about 5 days and they had to be replaced, They have been back about two weeks. All other parameters are ok no nitrates,no ammonia, no nitrites calcium was a little low last time I checked but I brought that up. ph is between 8.2 8.4. alk. good phospates are low. I do weekly water changes 5 then 10 then 5 again etc. everyting else looks good.

Move them out of the light. I see that they are already on the bottom but that might not be enough. Mine did the same thing untill I moved them further away from the light.
