White Algae or what?


Looking for info. on white stuff growing on live rock. looks like branches.

I think I have what your talking about on my rocks to. It is some kind of invert but not algae. I am thinking it may be some kind of sponge but it looks more like tree roots growing out of the rock that are white.

are they generally in darker areas of the tank? i am totally guessing here, but prolly tunicates.

yup a picture would be great..
if it is the sponge, you will need to keep it from spreading all over. that is pretty easy to do, just cut or pull it over. but a picture would be best 1st
