which power head?


I have a 20 gal reef tank, I need some extra circulation, I am thinking of going with a maxijet PH, either a 600, or 900....any thoughts.........I dont have 1 at all yet....

a couple 900 or 1200 MJ in corner angled towrd center works prety good

20g is pretty small, I would try one 900 to see how it works for you, and then possibly add a second one if you need it. I think the suggestion for circulation is 10x tank volume per hour or higher. The 1200 pushes 295gph, which by itself would be 15x tank turnover/hour.

I ordered 3 of the 600s and was not pleased with the output If I was you Id go with the 900s Casey

OK then how about a 900 for top circulation and a 1200 directed into the rock work, from behind or one side. There never seems to be enough circulation in the rocks

Wife has a MJ 1200 in her 20 and it does great no problems with water movement at all. Seems to be great. What did you decide on for lights Johnny?

I found a 4x55 watt retro fit for $225 on Hello lights which is the best deal I have found
