I don't think a new tank is suitable for Mandarins ... they tend to be pod eaters and that generally means mature and large tank. Tangs tend to prefer mature and large tanks since they like to constantly browse for algae and tend to need more swimming room ... I doubt the sailfin would do well in your size tank .. the blue tang may do better but I would hold off until your tank matures.

Thanks, My tank has been up and running for about a year now. I dont think i will be getting a mandrian unless my LFS and show me something besides pods that he is eating before i would buy one. I think i will be getting the Blue over the Sailfin tang. I had a yellow tang that was getting to agressive so i had to let him go, but i would add green
marine algae for him to pick at during the day.
