there are certainly endless way to set those OM units up.
Just keep in mind the more you split individual ports, the more frictiopna nd head loss you are adding. If you intend to run spraybars off of a OM unit and run a 4 way, a 4 way wont work ery well, especially on a BB tank like darth is planning as you simply CANT split ports and expect to accomplish anything out of your spraybars. If you dont split it and DO accomplish something out of your spraybars, then you are left with 1 directional port out with full oomph in the tank at any given time. It is of course more compicated and random than that........but just the same
I have two 8 ways and wouldnt have it any other way on any size tank to be honest. drum cut 3 ports open every 120 degrees and a big pump. Sraybars are never taking more than roughly 1/3 of your flow at any given time, but it is dedicated fllow to them so they will do what you want them to.
moral to the story IMO.....splitting that 4 way is fine without spraybars, but you will have a lot less flow than you may think even at that. Not splitting the ports off of the Om unit, large outlets in the tank, and a pump that can handle some head pressure is where these things(4 ways or 8 ways) really shine
using a dart on any average OM 4 way plumbing set up you will be LUCKY to be getting 2200 gph of flow.....subtract even more depedning on plumbing creativity and skill. Darts cant handle the friction loss that a OM unit presents, and add a spraybar into the equation......save it...it simply wont cut it
