I seem to remember in the back of my head somewhere a thread where he said his PC was broke and he could only get access to a borrowed every now and then.

I was also thinking that his avatar is Eeore the donkey from Winnie the Pooh, who i believe has the famous saying "Easy come, easy go". Maybe this is applicable to Perry too.

some issues with the job and a few opportunities that have presented themselves were keeping him busy, but I do not know what the current status is for either one of them.

I will check though.
