I don't have just one thing that I can think of, so many things about a reef tank or even a fish only tank that I like. just the fact that You can keep fish and have them survive for so many years in a small volume of water and be healty.

biggest buzz is upgrading to a bigger and better tank... getting it all set up and finally turning it on. second to that is watching it grow over time

It's the whole package. From building it to maintaining it to improveing it. It's the challenge of succes and the knowledge that you gain as you learn from others and from mistakes you make.
It's also being able to hang out here instead of reading all the stupid jokes sent to my email acct from family members.

I also like how no matter how 'good' your tank is it can always get better. I love hobbies like that... infinite challenge and the potential for so much success (still working on that last part though)

I think Casey hit the nail right on the head, if I didn't have my tank I would have way too much money, probably have to rake it everyday so it wouldn't go moldy
but the biggest rush I get is buying something new, then watching it grow

I like setting up new tanks...
but I think as I get further into the hobby fragging is going to be my passion if you will
I've only ever cut up a few corals but I'm sure eventually I will have frag tanks!
