Question

What's my toadstool doin' ?

Ok, If you read my older posting about my toadstool mushroom "when should I begin to worry" this is the same toadstool.

Well, it's finally accepted it's new surrounding. But tonight as I did my night patrol with my red flashlight. I noticed a spiderweb like thread coming out of the cap. From this thread several threads were dangling off of that, resembling a comb. I thought that this was a thread/hair that somehow got into the tank. So I attempted to scoop it out when it retracted back into the cap (couldn't see exactly were since it's on the back side and it's dark). Got a little startled since I wasn't expecting that . I waited a little while and it came out again. Just to make sure I was seeing what I thought I saw. I tried to scoop it out again (this time with my aquarium spoon) and it did it again.

Does anyone know what my toadstool is up to?

That is a fliter feeding seperate organism they like to mkae homes of corals. Never heard of one on a toadstool before though. Usally they are in torch's hammer's and frog spawns. They like to nest right in the polyps witch catch alot of stuff they make coral look bad.

I thought that maybe it was the toadstool itself. Sounds like it's a parasite. Should I try pulling it off when it's extended?
