What's in your fuge?

Hey guys,

My new set up has a pretty big sump (55gal) and lots of room for my refugium. Currently the fuge area has a DSB, a few chunks of LR and some Cheato lit by 40w of 6500k. There are quite of few almost microscopic copepods buzzing around in there also. So what else do you have/want in the fuge? I have a little micro algae going on maybe a few snails?

Thanks!

Unfortunately my refuge has turned into purgatory. All the animals that misbehave end up in the refuge. I have a large coral banded shrimp, large turbo snails, hermit crabs (blue+red), two LTA's, and two Ocellaris clowns. It's a standard 55gl tank with a DSB, algae, and a protein skimmer. It's lit by one 70W 4000K MH and two 10K 55W compacts. I also have one black cucumber.

The water can be filtered before reaching the sand bed which greatly reduces the amount of detritus that normally builds up in a sand bed that is under LR. The bacteria feed on what little detritus that does make it to the sand and nitrates drop. My nitrates don't exceed 1/2 PPM.

Elegance what did you clownfish do to deserve pergatory? They decided they wanted to use my Elegance corals as a host. My Elegance corals always come first. Then the female started plucking tentacles off. They have a pretty good life in my refuge. Pods to eat, two LTAs to live in, 55gl with no other fish, and I feed them every night. I hope to set up a system for a H. Mag. When I do, they will be moved into that tank.

I got rid of my two clowns because the female was tearing things up too.

I don't blame you one bit

Then it's no longer a fuge then, it's a seperate tank, connected to your display.

I have liverock, and taxifloria. An inch or so of sand. I keep my heater in there too.

I have a ton of pods and some small shrimp showing up. Kinda cool.

Ok, so I get the feeling that many folks have converted there fuge to prison for naughty critters. Let me rephrase my question. In a perfect world, other than the obvious equipment, what type of critters/live stock would you want in your fuge?

pledosophy,You could say that it's an other tank, but this fuge is a 100gal fuge.It has plenty of places for pods and critters to hide. Half the time I can't find the fish in there.
