What was your made you decide?

I've seen a couple of threads where people say design your tank around what you like. I was curious what was that 1 thing that got you started down your path to a ( SPS, LPS, Softie, Lagoon, ect....) tank.

( when I can afford the room and money for everything, then I'll be happy)

The path has many forks, my son, and you often end up in a different place from which you intended when you began. Or maybe it's just that knowledge offers options. I didn't start off with the idea of sps (not sure I knew what it meant) but they are what I like the most,or at least what I'm dedicating my biggest tank to. But I've still got the original tank and it has some of the original inhabitants. Trouble comes (and knowledge gained) when you learn of incompatibilities between things you like.

And yes, I know you're not my son, I was just tring to sound like Yoda or something............

That is hard to say. i started out years ago with many Fish only and some invert tanks. in the early 70's. time just went on and all my friends came by and enjoyed them. then in the 80's the reef think started taking off and I went that way and have done all kinds of things with reefs and have never gone back to fish only tanks. Alot of my friends hate the reef and wish I was doing the Fish only. And sometimes I think it is time to go back and do a undergravel Fish only tank. just to do it again. no matter what you do have fun and enjoy it . Brings a life time of enjoyment to You.
