Only issue with that is the skimmer has to be in sump or hang on sump... the rest of the space inside the stand is being eaten up by wires, ATO and controller... And the display is in my living room and I can't have a big skimmer sitting next to the stand..

Get the tallest skimmer that will fit under your stand... Make sure its a recirc. The only thing you'll have to worry about is a small feed pump and the return fron the skimmer. I feed mine with a mag 2.

Put the ATO over the sump, hang the controller on the wall and Um... wire ties?

Sorry, to me a skimmer is more important (expecialially on an SPS tank) than ATOs and controllers. I top off manually and the only controllers I need are for my lights and pumps and they are very small.

hmm... you might have an idea there... I could fit a big time skimmer next to the 10g sump and just use flex tubes for the pump into the skimmer and back into the sump.

Just gotta make sure I can fit my 5g tank for the ATO over the 10g sump...

This will be my next skimmer. Its a beast. And the pump it uses pulls around 81scfh which is ridiculous!
