What protein skimmer is best for a 28 gal tnk

Im going to have my first reef tank and I was wondering what protein skimmer is best for the 28 gallon tank? How much do good protein skimmers cost? Is a protein skimmer all the filtration I will need besides the live rock?

WEll, it all dpeends on if you plan on having any fish on there... I have a 20L that i'm starting, and will be putting my *%#* Seaclone on it as it will do for this tank (no fish or maybe one). Depending on your cash flow, something like prizm or seaclone, money not an issue, go with a CPR Bak Pak or something along that line (Aqua C Remora). Plus want your normal LR, Live sand, and some power heads for water movement....HTH

Prices....Seaclone, around $69, Prizm, same....CPR Bak Pak is $109 or somewhat I believe, Aqua C...not sure...

So if you have a Good Skimmer then you don't need a filter or do you?

For that size tank I would consider a BakPac or a Remora. The seaclone, Prizm, or even a free skilter with airstone mods may also work
With live rock and an adequate skimmer no other filtration save a deep live sand bed is needed but you will need a couple powerheads for circulation. A hang on filter if handy can also be used and you can run carbon in it on occasion, if needed.
