Hey B, I was not making assumptions about your skills but merely talking on a tangent when I spoke about things beginners run into. By reading your params I assumed that you were beyond that point.
I was actually heading more towards saying that if water params are right, the color spectrum of the light will go a long ways towards how we view a coral or how it uses the light to promote respiration. The organism will always move towards a balance of cellular gas exchange within the limits of your tanks parameters. If other parameters are out of whack, the organism could spend more time trying to survive rather than thrive.
We all know that stress is important in how our critters look in the tank. With that said, I was merely pointing out that if a new organism has not colored up, it may not have reached the balance point where it has begun to grow and thrive yet. Just a basic biological principle.
I have been around here long enough to never assume someone's experience. For the most part, what I have learned is I know little compared to others on this board. Ha! I just pass along what I have learned the hard way or garnished from other's experiences.
