What kind of fish are actually needed for a reef??

I think this is a good thread to start. So what is actually needed. (ex. what do you need to eat the different kinds of algea, what do you need to eat bad bugs, what do you need to keep a low maintenance tank?)

You don't need any fish to have a successful reef tank. Good husbandry will take care of all nuisance algae. Good habits will have you dipping corals to take care of any unwanted pests.

Fish aren't needed at all.

i think a couple algae grazers are a big bonus for any tank, a simple lawnmower blenny will do wonders for any slight film on the glass, but you certainly dont need it.
