Question

what kind am i?


just wondering if anyone knew what kind of zoa this is? common name and or scientific would be great im tiredof refering to them as "the purple ones with the lighter purple in the center"

that's probably the best way to identify them=) There are so many types of zoa that I don't think there really is a name for all of them.

As far as I know, those like yours, and all others for that matter are simply known as Zoanthids, science is not even sure yet if there are seperate species or if they are all but one or two with different color morphs. For now, a purple zoanthid it is...lol

there are zoanthids, palythoa, and protopalythoa, (i think thats all of them) your seem to be zoanthids, palys are usually much larger. although you see them around called everything under the sun, if you want a common name for that color morph, check zoaid.com otherwise. purple dudes is pretty much all you get.
