Ya Rick O nice pics the colors look fantastic how easy are they to care for as I am some what of a new bee
and anyone else got any favs that they would like to mention as I am looking to buy some softys.
shrooms and toad stool are good to maybe if any one knows the scientific name and common name of the easier and hardier of any of the softys that would be great it would make it easier to order.
There must be other softy fans out there even if you only know the common name don't be shy jump in here I need all the help I can get to sway Dr Evils opinion of reef keeping and show her what we already know
thanks

Oops. And I've been wanting one for my tank .
Pretty much any mushrooms will work. If you're interested in Xenia, the pom pom type seems to be slower growing. Some other varieties can take over your tank.

The best softies are free....get a local reefer to propagate some...It will keep Dr. Evil happier. I really like colt corals and frilly mushrooms.

I have a Capnella sp. or Kenya tree that I really like. It's easy to frag, in fact it drops off pieces regularly and is growing like crazy!
My Gold Crowned Toadstool is one of my all time favorites, as are Star Polyps of any type. They add good coverage and color to your tank.
Have Fun!

Thanks Alice and MarieK
this is just the kind of info I am looking for and Marie free is always good and if you lived just down the street it would be great to swing by for a frag and a coffee.
thanks

Hi RickO
Well the Lair is in the side of a Mountain
on a tropical island
No actually I live north of the border but have family on both sides and unlike my cousins to the south the coral selection up here is not the greatest and the prices are nuts at the local lfs so you have to resort to mail order to get what you want.
The experience of the members of this board is great so what better place to look for ideas on hardy and easy to care for soft corals than here.
Any other softy fans out there?
My real name is Alex
but mini mee is good to

My vote is for the pom pom xenia..it is so pretty! You need a lot of light though.
