What is this???
I went out and bought some cured live rock from a really good LFS and came home with a hitchhiker, sharkbait thinks it is a chiten (don't think I spelled that correctly...whoops!) If you have any idea what it is and if it is bad for the tank please any info would be great.
The live rock is in my 29 gallon and if it's bad I hope to catch the bugger while it's in the open. Here's some pics of the thing.

It is a Chiton and they are good for the tank, they feed on algae and diatoms. Cool critters.

yep, i would love to get a chiton. i keep trying to find one at a LFS. even if i do find one, the chances of getting it off of the glass is pretty nill.

Thanks, I was worried most questionable critters are not so good for the tank. It's got a home here I checked it out this morning and it has a neat pattern on the back/shell. As dobejazz says the are neat in a creepy beatle sort a way

Wow that is cool. Did you buy them or did they hitchhike into your tank?

I used to get them in allot at my store and you can get them from LFS's you more than likely will have to tell them to order it for you, We specialized in more reef stuff than fish only tanks. But they are very good grazers and are cool to watch.
