Some guy over on RC just paid $1000 for this golden black trigger (I'd never seen one before - its a Xanthicthys caeruleolineatus so its reef safe).

The most I bought one for was around 70 if I remember right, that was for a flameback angel. The most expensive fish I've had is my Helfrichi Firefish which can cost up to 300 on some sites.

A very good/expensive chiller maybe? Or a converted deep freezer.

I've made a promise to myself I will not spend more than $50 on any one item, and so far stuck to it, most expensive fish I've bought was the watchman goby for $30/.

i want that galapagos centropyge.... i believe it is hotumatu or something along those lines. One of only two fish collected around the islands for the aquarium trade. they are around a thousand. but want and need is a different thing. I traded a handful of very nice frags and corals for my red sea regal angel. so i voted for his list price of 200 even though he is worth way more than that to me. he is and has been eating for a few months and gaining significant weight @ around 5".

I agree, before I started with reef tanks, I had a 120g sting ray and shark tank With 4 rays and 4 sharks. My Tiger ray cost me $450.
