Relaxing?! He's working really hard to relax! I thought he was relaxing when he was sitting on the sand
.... he's still swimming up there

Did the lights just come on? Is there any new additions to the tank?

He was the new addition
I did turn the lights on a couple of hours ago...and I fed him and the clown shortly after (they're all that's in there right now, besides cuc, tank has been up ~2 mos).
It's a relief to know he's just a spazz and not trying to kill himself (since I have a hood).

Well it's a relief to know he's not dying then...I thought he might swim until he got tired and then float to the top and get sucked out the overflow
He was under a rock at the LFS

Yeah, I think he is just checking out his territory. It looks odd for him to be at the top of the tank, but in the ocean it would only be a foot off the bottom - which would only be enough to survey the immediate vicinity for rivals, predators etc.

Well I went to the gym, came home, and he was back on the sand! Then I took his picture, started this post....and he went back up to swim ...at least he got a little rest. He's a pretty cool fish.

My yellow watchmen when i had him also did that. but he only did when i fed the tank. After he got his share of yummies he would go back to the sand and hang out under his rock ledge... I ended up getting rid of him because i was moving at the time...
