What helps bring back corals color?

What helps bring back corals color? I had my tooth coral too high up in my tank a couple months ago, along with the water level being too low, thus making it really salty, and warm. He looked like he just about died. The flesh was real thin, and you could see the skeleton poking through.

I fed the tank iodide for a little while (til I ran out lol), and he got all of his meaty flesh back. He is still brown though, and not the beautiful flourescent green he once was.

What brings their color back? Decreasing the photo period? feeding more(I dont feed any of my corals)?

In all its glory:

The low point:

Now, more fleshy:

It may take weeks if not months for a coral to recover from an injury and get it's color back. Just give it time and good conditions. Be patient, it looks like it's on the road to recovery. You could feed it some shrimp bits or whatever meaty seafood you like to give it a boost, but don't go crazy with the food (more is not better).

i find putting sunburnt corals as far away frm my lights as I can get them (without being int he shadows) helps them get their zoox and better colors back

Im dealing with it right now in a big way as i was careless acclimating to my new reflectors mthinking that since i chagnged to a weaker bulb too it wouldnt be such a big deal. Wrong.

Do you still have the 14K bulb? If so, can you temporarily switch them out to see if the coral appears to be more green? There can be a huge difference between 10 and 14K. I'm not saying that's your only problem though. I think Fly Guy nailed it. 10K bulbs usually have a pretty high PAR. Switching to a higher kelvin temp/ lower PAR bulb would probably help the coral color back up. Feeding it is also a very good idea.

No amount of money can buy good husbandry and patience, which is probably all you need.

I think itd be self defeating to switch to a 14k bulb. If I wanted less light, I woulda got a 175w MH lol.
