What happened to Reef Science?

I happened to notice the Reef Science web page was taken off the net. What happened, did they go out of business.

Hi CIDReefer,

I'd never heard of Reef Science, but a quick web search shows a Reef Science store in San Francisco, but the web site is no longer available. Is that the one you were referring to?
Maybe some of our Bay Area members can shed some light on this.

From your "handle" and location, could we assume you are in the Army? If so, all of us here appreciate our troops, particulary at this time.
I spent some time in Korea many years ago, courtesy of the USAF and did "visit" the Air Base at Taegu once on official business. Are you keeping a reef there?

Again, welcome to The Reef Tank!
Dick

Reef Keeping in Korea

That's too bad about Reef Science closing. Several years back, while in the states, I had bought LR from them. I hate to see stores in our hobby go out of business.

Unfortunately, I have not maintained a Reef tank since being stationed here in Korea (1 1/2 years). I didn't want to set anything up and then have to tear it all down when I leave. I thought of a "micro" reef but the fish stores here are somewhat "primative" and what ever I give them when I leave, I know would not be cared for and would die.

I really envy you guys/gals. I miss reefing so much. I spend days drawing and planning my ideal reef tank. Awaiting the day (soon, hopfully) I return to the states! I feel so behind in the reefing community being in Korea. I try to stay updated on all the new trends and products, but it's not the same when you can actually see the real thing. I frequently go up to Seoul to the Aquarium (which is really nice) just to look at their reef aquarium and daydream about my previous reef tanks. Oh well, I'm starting to froth at the mouth! Glad to be part of the group!!!

Mike,
Nice thing about planning a reef; you can have anything you want and don't have to worry about the cost!!! It's only when you actually begin to put it together that the $$$ reality sets in!

Where are you from in the States?
