as you know This fish is a herbivore, with a diet preference for brown macroalgae. Some specimens may be reluctant to eat anything else, but for the most part this species will usually accept the basic tank fed diet for Tangs & Surgeonfishes. On rare occasions an Some may pick at large-polyped corals.
how big is he?
was he eatting well before you got him?
everything i have seen so far on Naso/ lipsticks talk about how bad they are if recived below 4 inches.

almost all tangs LOVE Nori (or will once exposed to it a few times).

In general, Tangs are omnivores (they'll eat anything), but despite what they WILL eat, they SHOULD have a diet that's at least 50% algae based. If they don't get their veggies, they become MUCH more suceptible to Ick outbreaks and general health issues. Naso's need algae even more so than other tang's, from what I've heard.

In general, it's not good to feed fish right after they've been added to your tank. The stress of the travel tends to mess with their digestive system. While most fish might eat the food you offer them eagerly, it can cause serious internal problem since they're all wound up, so to speak.

Just give him a day or two to calm down, then try the Nori again. If that doesn't work, try Mysis. EVERYONE loves Mysis!

But over time, definitely ween him onto the Nori or some sort of algae based diet.

Honestly he is still in shock from the change in environment. I usually wait a couple of days before feeding new fish.

In my experience all tangs take a few days to settle in and not freak every time you come near your tank. My nasos eat just about anything, but I'm sure to give them plenty of green and brown algaes. I have had one naso for over 7 years, she was about an inch long when I bought her, took a gamble that paid off! They are great fish.

LOL my chocolate tang usually beats up all new comers i guess he finally met his match.
BTW the tang look bigger in my tank than he did at the LFS lol. Ill give him a couple days ill take some pics tonight of him. I love his lips
