Cool

What do you guys think of these dimensions?

Well as me and my wife sat yesterday we were thinking of the home we will buy next mid year. its gona be a town home near my father in law 4 bedroom 2 1/2 bath 2 stories. we were discusing the tank upgrade because i want something bigger. I showed her a corner tank from oceanic she did not like it i ask her if she wanted a show tank about 200g she said maybe. The i showed her the tank on www.reefvideos.com its the 1st one named Carls 150g reef. She absolutely loved it and i do to but i did not think she would love the idea that is not againts a wall. so my plan is going to start soon. what do you think of these dimensions.
72L x 30W x 24H for a total of 224G plus a sump. i will put all the rocks in the center and do this the same way. Do you think this dimension is ok. And since i am 6'5 i kinda want a taller stand than a regular 30 in one. Is there any problem having something taller like a 45 inch stand is it possible of would it tip over. Ill give some more info on my idea in a few i got a flight coming in from Taipei that i got to work in 10 minutes wow gota go it just landed i heard ok bye

I have a 72x 30 x 24 and like it. You dont want a taller stand though especially if you plan on having a canopy on top. Reason is this.........being as the tank is 30 inch deep it is impossible to reachanywhere near the back of the tank without tools as it is.......add any height to that and you will need a ladder and tools to reach anything in the tank.

Just my $.02

That is the one on the salty zoo site right? Yeah i think you are right i measure from my feet all the way to my arm pit and i am 63 inches then from my pinky to my arm pit i am 33 inches so i would barely reach in if i stand on a 2-3 inch box. BTW would 250w mh be ok if they sat 9 inches from the top of a tank and its depth was 24 inches?

I think 250W is fine provided you get a good bulb.

I would rather have a tank that is 30 wide and 24 deep, but I wouldn't complain to get what your thinking about

Thx I cant wait and that will be my final tank lol after setting up 5 tanks. The great thing is as you go bigger its kinda cheaper because you can reuse the LR lights and stuff like that. Then ill sell the tank skimmer and canopy and use that money to get another Stronger ASM skimmer one more MH and more rock. well i know were my next tax refund is gona go
