The Durso style is MUCH better!
A straight standipipe will sound like a toilet flushing every few minutes.

Thats pretty much the answer I was anticipating!

How difficult is it to put a durso standpipe in a already up and running tank? Just shut the pumps off, let everything drain, then pump out the rest of the water in the overflow with a
power head or something? I'm guessing I can leave the bottom portion of the drain connected to the bulkhead while i put the durso in? Is there anything basic I'm missing other than unscrew old replace with new??
