Mine went brown with diatoms, they died quickly, then after a while coraline started to move in,... I'd like to keep it white (as my experimental tank is now) but I'm also lazy, so I'm not sure which will end up hapening.

Mine's white right now, because I just setup this tank experimental tank (the one in my sig), and I don't have old pics of what it looked like before,... Sorry.

It's like cuttingboard people put on the bottom of their tank if there not using sand to make the bottom look better, and prevent the rocks from breaking the bottom pain in case of a landslide.

Its HDPE. High density polyethylene. Starboard is actually hdpe that is used for covering parts of ships(hence starboard) and is more UV resistant and comes in many colors. It is about 3 times as expensive as just regular sheets of HDPE that is used for cutting boards.
I just have normal HDPE in my tank, as the 3/4" thick piece that i use would be kinda expensive.

Any plastic supply place should be able to get it for you. I use a piece thicker than most as i use it to create the frame for my my rock lifts as well......most people use 1/4" or 3/8" thick
