What are the ways.......

that my new 75 gal with 30 gal sump/protein skimmer can .....leak major water anywhere other than where it is supposed to? Not including the obvious (the dreaded CRACK). My husband is having nightmares of wet/dry vacs attacking him!!

well id say the two most likely events are that somehow your drain gets clogged, or if youre using a syphon tube overflow and lose syphon then your pump will overflow the tank, or if your pump goes out and theres not enough room in the sump to catch all the water your sump will overflow. if youre running your skimmer in your sump then the skimmer shouldnt be a worry, but if not the cup can overflow if u dont empty it often enough
