What 150W HQI BULBS TO USE

I didnt notice in your posts anywhere, but what color temp is your phoenix?

I am currently running the 150w Pheonix bulbs. I like them very much. They are blue like a 20K bulb but that is what I wanted. I am getting some great growth still so I would recommend them. I haven't used the other 2 though.

So you are saying that you use a 14K blub an it is blue like other 20K bulbs? I read that the 14Ks start out pretty blue, but becomes less so with time.

Yes they are pretty blue. They do get a bit less blue with time. But I don't think I go as far as saying they are like another 14K bulb. I personaly like them and I'm glad I gopt them. I had 20K XM's before these which were about the same color. But the Pheonix are brighter if that makes sense.


When I got the Pheonix I put 1 in 1 side and left a 20K XM in the other. Then I asked 2 people which was bluer. They both said they thought it was the same. Just 1 looked like a new bulb to me because it was brighter. Which could have very well been because it was new.

Mine are about 10" off water. I need the spread, only one over 30". Keeps heat down though. I'd say 6-8 is perfect, especially since you are running two.

I am running the current 150watt bulbs and they are as crisp white with no touch of blue whatsoever. They are def. not yellow but my next bulb will be phoenix.

I have always like Phoenix or XM bulbs in 15K
