Question

Wet/Dry Refugium question

Just got a new wet/dry(ya,the fancy acrylic kind:P) and the more i hear of refugiums the more my wheels turn...

The space would have to be under the crate where my water flows through the filter mesh, the space would be '1Lx'1Wx"6H, but the height would eventually be a little over a 1', cuz i think i would have to block the 3" space of water that flows to the sump(as to avoid suction of the macro algea), thus raising the water up to little over a foot , then it would overflow to the sump.

Would this beneficial or would it be fairly redundant and more of headache than anything else? Ive read as much as i can in a short amount of time but would appreciate some experience to spell it out for me...
