Well heres the frag status. The electrical for the tank will be in next wek hopefully so water will soon follow. That wont give a huge amount of time for a stable system but I will o my best. I dont think there wil be any fish or coral of my own at that point. There has been some interet in it though. I will do all I can to get it ready.
Mogrags, yes, the RV park near me has ook ups it is about 10 minutes from my house and a simple drive. I will try to get rates for you thios week. It is a well treed park with a water park across the street, no freeway noise either.
The only real thing to work out is food quantity and jhow many we have for a group rate at a hotel. The sooner we can get some definates the better. I think large quantities of food would be a very good thing!
I know this has been asked but who can bring what? Im going to do some tri-tips and chicken. The adult beverage issue is a BYOB and responsible actions on that, I would hate to see anyone get in trouble or worse.
As Doug said its getting closer so lets hear ideas and suggestions too. This is everyones ho-down so let er rip!
Oh and just as a side note, weve already see 110 degrees (not normal for THIS time of year) so it will be HOT! The pool will be COOL! And the shade will be plentiful! Good food, fun and company. I look ofrward to putting some faces with some names.
Bring your stories and yarns too! The deeper the better!

Is it a holding tank just for the picnic or a frag system you are setting up for yourself that will do double duty as a holding tank? I ask because the one Tom set up for the picnic (holding tank) was simply a tank with saltwater that he dosed with Interceptor (so no inverts). If I remember right, he set it up a few days before the picnic. Although I could be wrong about that one.

I still am not sure if I can make the trip or not. I want to, its just a matter of $$$. I am trying to get moved out of this apartment as soon as I can. If I can get moved in June, then July is possible. If I have to wait until the end of June/early July, then I won't be able to make it

But, if I DO make it, the wigs coming with me!

It would be great if you could pull it off but we unnerstand if not, given the obscene rise in fuel costs I think a lot of the northies will bail, but I will be there, shoot thats worth the price of the cover charge right there

I hope I can manage it but still have to wait and see. If I remember right, would have to check again, the trip would cost me around 1500 dollars to make it.

That's what Tom used. An extra tank and simply set it up temporarily. Dosed it with Interceptor. Then, you don't have to worry about anything potentially sneaking into your main system. It will be isolated and a "QT" tank for a little while. It would be a disaster if a redbug sneaked into your main display as an inadvertent hitch hiker

Okay Boys n Girls! We are getting close to the day of the Bash. The yard is looking good, the pol is in shape and the grill is a callin'! Doug will be able to bring another grill and I can borrow even more if needed. We have two refrigerators for food storage also. We will open the house to all for any one needing to use the kitchen for prep and I'm thinking a lose start time of 10:00 am. ( if you're board, come by earlier!)
What I need is an RSVP from all who plan on attending and how many you will be in your party. As I said before, kids are more than welcome as w have three, a park next door and a trampoline (fully enclosed). Adult beverages are a BYOB item and if needed I will provide rides for anyone who overshoots the safe mark!
I'm thinking that in the a.m. w will make a single trip to the grocery store for any items needed for anyone.
Pleas let me know if you need hotel arrangements so that I can get the hotel group rate for all who will be using it.
Also again, there are several things to do around here for those interested in making it more than just a trip for the BBQ.
The tank will be running by then and I will have a 75 set up for frags.
The main system wont be holding any animals yet but will be running and I will do a water change that day to show how my WC set up works.

PM me with all RSVP's, I know this has been done by some earlier but I need an updated list and an idea of how many will be here!
I cant wait to meet all of you and look forward to having you all in our home!!!!!

Dig (or build) a pit, that doesn't cost anything...

If you build the pit and buy me a round trip ticket, I will hold the water hose for that picnic as well

That pit is awesome.

the problem is that here Fire Season is called about June early so no open pit BBQ like that here in Southern Oregon. Given that july temps over 1ooF are unusual here, but normal where Robert lives. you can see a problem, a Pit BBQ like that would take out several neighbors AC units

Invite them over to eat, when they go back home and roast, play innocent. "What fire?"

They just called fire season here. I had room for a pit but no longer. With the garden and th suprise purchase of the trampoline, space is limited now in the back
No problem on the grill Doug, I can get enough to cover us.
Randy, stow away in a carry on or something. If not we will send out the TRT patrol to haul your butt out here.
As for the rest of you, it will be over 100. Just count on it!

I would love to come out there but I just can't see how I can do it. Plane, car, misc, 1500 or so. With what I have done and going to have to do in the next 2 months, just can't do it.
