Well it happened again

I got several new fish and after about 30 days and a little bout with ich the two larger fish died about 3 days apart. All the smaller fish are still doing well. The long nosed butterfly died first the the gold rim tang. The 3 pajama cardinals are doing well. The diamond goby is good, and the old fish in the tank I've had for a little over a year are doing good. I really want more big fish in the tank, but don't know how. There is ick in the tank but it only seems to bother the big fish I put in the tank.

Its primarily related to the stress of getting new fish, then again Long nose butterflies are fairly specific feeders and poor shippers.
When my tank was in its glory days, I would often do 4-5 50% water changes on the tank before making a new fish purchase, and QT, esp risky fish, then again I was able to read the refractometer on shop tanks and set the Q tank up for that, after watching them a few weeks
