Cool

well i went to wal-mart and got the water

its by culligan............according to the display it goes through the same process as what we are use to........a carbon filter and a RO filter............of coarse no information on TDS or anything like the, but its only 33 cents a gallon so I got 4 gallons since i do not have the money for a RO/DI unit

Okay Im hijacking your thread. I have a new aquapod 24 but had a 12 jbj for 2 years. I have always used my tap water and no problems. Healthy fish and coral. Dont yell at me now that I have starting using reeftank instead of lfs for info I know its bad. But if it is so bad would I have had problems and can someone tell me how the ro/di unit works? Gonna look into one cause with two tanks and weekly water changes I dont want to deal with going to the store. Sorry about jacking your thread ionracing. Let us know how it goes with the culligan water.

i get mine from a lfs, i have a couple 5 gallon jugs, that once every week or two i go get filled. its pretty simple, ive calculated the costs of water vs. a ro/di and new filters every couple months + salt and all the other jazz. it came out pretty close. im always at the fish store anyway. so i figure its a good excuse to get out of the house. and head out to the fish store. of course some people with much larger tanks cant really do that, and i used tap for the first fill. i have a little bit of algae going but since its a new tank, and im using the ro/di for water changes. i dont think its much of an issue.
