Unhappy

Well I think it's time,.. the 180 has to come down :( Pic.

I've loved this tank, but I really think it's time for it to come down.

The reason I'm taking it down will be to move my current 125G SPS tank into this tank. The 180 is a Reef Ready tank where the 125 is not. Humidity in my apartment is out of control, the heat is rediculus and my power bill is through the roof.

My current 125G SPS tank:

This will mark the end of a very long time for me in keeping Planted tanks. After the contest I may setup the 15G, or 30 tall Fresh water planted but I'm not sure yet.

Sounds like it will be good in the long run. What are you doing with the 125??

It is a nice freshwater tank.

Ahh. The 180 will make a great reef. I too am drifting away from planted tanks. Mine is windled down to a low light, low maint. planted now... And I'm actually thinking of making a 24" cube for a planted tnak once the dual display system is up.

So all that blabbing to to agree and support your decision

I think what whiskey is trying to say that the 180 planted will be taken down and the 125 reef will move over to the 180. and the 125 will not be used any more. he doesnt talk about putting back up the 125.

I will miss your planted tank though. i tried having some plants in my 55 with my oscar. But he gets upset with me when i dont feed him like twice a day almost. (little pig) and when he gets mad he starts moving things around. i have the plants weighed down with the lead weights but that doesnt stop him from grabing them and draging them to the other side of the tank. plus he has torn apart some of the plants that i have stuck in there with him too.

This tank is drilled, the 125 isn't, this will lower my power bill by about $30, it will lower humidity,.. One less tank to maintain, less heat in my house, there are a bunch of reasons.

Thanks Fly,.. The 125 I'm going to sell,.. I thought about just switching the tanks straight across but that's not what I want to do.

If it was just a swap I wouldn't be so sad,.. but I'm not going to be setting the 125 back up. The swap from the 125 to the 180 will be stressfull of course,.. but the plants will be gone

Yes,... I've been thinking about doing this for about a year, and everyone else tearing down tanks brought it back up,.. that and the summer power bill

Lol Thanks VWD,.. I really do love them,... there allot of fun, I'm sure I'll have to keep a planted, low light, 30 tall or something just to keep it around,.. keep some of the plants I've collected over the years, but I'm afraid the big one has to go.
