weird lobo behavior

my lobo acclimated to its new home in my tank, but it does this weird thing every once in a while where it will scrunch all down and it looks like...well, i dont know, like, cauliflower or something. then it stretches back out and extends its polyps. anyone know if this is normal or not? do i need to post my water params? of course I do. let me go test.

1.025, amm and nitrite 0, ph 8.2, nitrates around 10 or 15, 5g weekly water changes, 2 cpr skimmers, medium water flow (maxijet 1200 and 900 along with powerfilter returns (sometimes I run cartridges with carbon, sometimes not, right now I am and the cartridges are a week or two old), 130 watts pc lighting, lobo is placed 3/4 way up in the tank.

is this normal or is it trying to tell me something? heres a pic of the cauliflower impersonation:

That's not a Lobophyllia. No idea why it's doing that though.
