Weird Kenya "Behavior"

I know corals don't really have "behavior" but I has no other way to describe this...

I have not lost a single coral up to this point. I have (had) 2 kenya trees for about 6 months. One of them has never "thrived" while the other is growing like a bad weed. The other one never really extended and kinda just stayed balled up. While the other drops limbs like crazy and has probally grown 5x in 6 months. Saturday morning I was doing my weekly WC and noticed a prob. with the "good" one. IT WAS DYING!!!! I got it out of the tank and it was 90% GONE!! Like Jelly! I was able to frag one tiny stalk. I finished the WC and wondered what could have caused this. I tested the old water and everything was fine. ????? A few hours later when the lights came on the "not so good looking" Kenya looked AWESOME. Great Extension, great color it looked like a totally new coral. And it looked the same all Sunday. What could have caused this??? The smaller frag from the other Kenya looks good too....

keep a close eye on the rest of the corals now..
who else is in the the tank?
often times , corals will fight each other for space.
