We are artists!

So it has dawned opon me that this hobby is not just any hobby. I have been reefing for about a half a year now, and what I have noticed is that some tanks look better than others. Some look extreamly better than others. So it has hit me that we are artists really if you think about it, ontop of a bunch of other things as well. When designing the reef tank putting each individual coral in it's perfect spot can be a challenge for the better health of the coral and the look of the the over all tank. It takes tons of patience. And one day it hits you, that you have created a great looking reef. I think the back bone to create great looking reef is the rock formation! And filling corals in every possiable location makes for the best reef tank. I have noticed the tanks with the most corals and life seem to look better than plain ones that expose more LR than corals... What are your sujjestions? However I'm just putting it out there what makes a tank beautiful so we can all learn from each other. Suggestions on what makes the tank better looking everyone!? (How to make that perfecting looking tank everyone.)

King,

yes, and we have god complexes too. think about the fact that we are designing and completely controling tiny little aquatic worlds in our living rooms.

I think all tanks go through ugly stages - where they look bare the key is placing things so that they look and do awesome when they grow

I agree wholeheartedly and somethimes these stages will come and go in a cycle just like everything else in our tanks.
