Water turned cloudy in 1 hour

After work yesterday my tank was completely clear. I left for about an hour and when I came home the tank was cloudy. It is a white tint, no color. I had tested the parameters the night before and I tested again after the water got cloudy. The night before I added Calcium and Iodine because my Ca was low at 380 and Iodine had tested low a week or so ago. I did not do a Calcium test or Iodine test last night. I use RO/DI water for topoffs and changes.

Tank has been set up about 6 weeks and everything has been pretty stable so far.

Water parameters:
pH 8.3 (before and after)
SG 1.023 (before and after)
Ammonia 0 (before and after)
Nitrite 0 (before and after)
Nitrate 2 (before), 0 (after)
Alk 5 meq/L (before), 3 meq/L (after)

My assumption is that it is some sort of algae bloom because the nitrates dropped to 0 overnight. I am a little concerned about the drop in Alk but I attribute that to adding the calcium. Should I try to raise the Alk?

Anybody have any suggestions??? I know, I know... just be patient.

BTW, I am just getting through a substantial diatom bloom and I am having a cleaning crew delivered today. The rocks are a really ugly rusty brown color but it seems to be getting a little bit better.

that rusty brown color seems to be the norm in newly established tanks.. it should go away in a few days.. as the rest.. hmmmm.. some one will have something better to say..

Possibly a bacterial bloom, in wich case it will subside. Thats the only thing I can think of. Doubt its algae.
