water movement

i have a concern about movement , or the lack of . along with the 2MDQ-SC Water Pump (Little Giant) as my sump return , im using a mag drive 1200
to drive a scwd , my tank is 36x18x24 (65g) im wanting a range of soft ,lps
and sps corals. i have 2x175 MH 14k + 2x55 actinic.
is this enought water movement ? or is there a better way of doing this w/o
having to buy more equipment.
i just want everyone to b happy.
man! scuba divers have it so easy.

Wow your setup sounds like mine
36x20x20
with a 55 gal rubbermaid sump drilled for a 3MD and a RODI float switch.
I'm running a 1x250 single MH with a Sun aquatics 20 K bulb and 1x660 IC on 2x36" T-5's for actinic. and i will be having 2x1200 Maxi jets on a Wave maker

I have read that it's good to have a slow flow thur your sump on the end of a return to let the skimmer do its job and let the turn over rate be by a
tunze PH's or a closed loop.. or other power heads of power filters in he main tank......

Flow doesn't have to mean sump processed water. Clsed loops are a fantastic way of upping your flow while keeping you sump turn over optimum. You can probably keep your higher flow critters closest to your outputs.

my concerns r for my 2 sps corals , i understand that putting them closer to the output gives more current but theat always an option, im using a mag drive 1200 w/ a scwd for my cls , what im wondering is , is there a better way

to get the wave motion w/o spending a lot of money ( i mean a lot more money) its to late on the lot of money part. i know that the scwd is killing
the flow from the MD 1200 , or maybe its good enought and im worrying
to much. to much coffeeeeeee.

I have a 54 corner tank, and it seemed like I had a lot of dead spots. But luckily my pop in an engineer specializing in pipes and pumping units. He designs chemical plant so it thought he would be a good one to ask. And he explained that war water rises. Cold water sinks. The sheer movement of the water going through the pump will make it warmer by sheer kinetic energy. So if you place you inlets lower in the tank, water coming out of the will go out, and then rise. Creating a current on the bottom. And then rising shortly after it enter the tank. And if you have two head pointing at each other it will create an up draft. At what ever point you want. then place the return on the opposing side of the tank, and keep it up high, this way it move the up draft. I was thinking about using two SCWD’s on my closed loop. To have two loop returns Just not sure how the SCWD will work in reverse .Also to create more pressure in the system I didn’t use ¾ inch PVC I used an ¾ to 1 inch adapter then ran 1 inch PVC then towards the outlets I used ½ there for creating more pressure. But I used a MAG 7 only cus I’m not sure of how much of a strain this is putting on the pump.
