Water Motion

I will be setting up a new tank in the next several months it will be a 70 gallon. 36" X 18" X 24" (I Think that's right). I do not want to run powerheads rather a sweeping type of water motion. Can anyone give me ideas on how to build or where to buy.

Doug

A dyi surge device at each end of the tank will work well. Lots of sites for this, but the oz site has a good one. Look for one of the pipette cleaner devices, they work well and have no moving parts.

I really like the surge devices I've seen and the one in Eric Borneman's book looks like it would be pretty simple to build. You will have to have an overhead area for the system though.

If not the surge device, my next choice would be a closed loop setup returning thru a 3/4" Sea Swirl, not cheap but they do sweep
